TextExpander is a great mac application for using customized abbreviations for frequently used text strings and images. The Video Tutorials will show you some of the ways you can use TextExpander.

Over at the SmileOnMyMac blog there is a link to a handy TextExpander snippet to create shortened URL's. If your a twitter user this is a great tool for converting long URL's to accommodate the character limitations for postings using twitter.

Here is a quick video I did to show how I use this snippet with twitter.

1. Copy the long URL to your clipboard
2. Past it in the twitter by typing ttrim

This will past a shortened version of the URL. Easy huh
